The Island Fitness Pageant is the brainchild of Dave "Mr. NRG" Waldron. Dave began his career as an artist with the ability to express himself in any medium - for this was his lively hood he was well known for huge hand painted backdrops.
Dave absolutely loves the game of basketball and played competitively for sometime, until an almost crippling injury, redefined his focus and an interesting twist of fate placed him in a fitness instructor certification course, which he passed and has not looked back.
Dave's new focus caused him to travel frequently to attend many fitness conventions or competitions, he even competed in and won the 1997 World Aerobics Championships. These experiences brought him to the realization, that the genetic gifts, of our countries women and men were untapped and under developed.
Imagine a well-toned beautiful body; sketched with diet and exercise upon the canvas of a healthy happy lifestyle; painted with the pigment of discipline; applied with the brush of focus; framed in confidence; wrapped in envy; then displayed for all to see.
Our IFP 2006 4th place competitor - Cindy Maynard - was crowned Ms. Legacy (Figure) 2006 in the Legacy International show held in DisneyLand, los Angeles.
Ciji Blackette our IFP 2006 - 2nd place competitor and our 3rd place competitor - Kerri Gibson, both competed at the Legacy International show in the fitness competition.
Melodie Rodriguez won the IFP 2006 competition, along with Ciji Blackette - who placed 2nd in the IFP 2007 competition, attended the Ms. Fitness World 2008 competition.
