Island Fitness Pageant
The Island Fitness Pageant is the brainchild of Dave "Mr. NRG" Waldron. Dave began his career as an artist with the ability to express himself in any medium - for this was his lively hood he was well known for huge hand painted backdrops.
Dave absolutely loves the game of basketball and played competitively for sometime, until an almost crippling injury, redefined his focus and an interesting twist of fate placed him in a fitness instructor certification course, which he passed and has not looked back.
Dave's new focus caused him to travel frequently to attend many fitness conventions or competitions, he even competed in and won the 1997 World Aerobics Championships. These experiences brought him to the realization, that the genetic gifts, of our countries women and men were untapped and under developed.
The Island Fitness Pageant was born - produced by N.R.G Productions; it showcased its first competition in Barbados July of 2002 and has been doing so every year since.
Dave, being a life-time member of an age old fraternity, dedicated to the rebuilding of a society ravaged by obesity along with the effects of poor lifestyle practices. He saw this as a prime opportunity to provide firm examples of the wonderful benefits of adequate exercise, good dieting and proper lifestyle management.
No longer must we look into health and fitness magazines like broke window shoppers longing for the seemingly unattainable. Achieving these results are very possible and N.R.G Fitness Consultants proves this every year with its wonderful work and amazing results with the competitors of the Island Fitness Pageant.
